Project Spotlight: HALO Village

Nestled within the heart of Kansas City, Missouri, the HALO Village stands as a testament to the power of community and compassion. More than just a collection of buildings, HALO (Helping Art Liberate Orphans) is more than just a place; it is a comprehensive support system designed to provide safety, healing, and growth opportunities for vulnerable children and young adults.

Clockwork has had the fortunate opportunity to work with Halo for years, and now we're assisting with the design and construction of their new headquarters and housing facilities. The 37-acre campus in southeast Kansas City will include boys' and girls' homes, a learning center, and administrative office with plans for growth. This expansion is crucial, as the number of homeless youths in Kansas City continues to rise.

The new HALO Village will serve as a safe haven for children aged 16-21, providing not just shelter but a nurturing environment where they can access therapeutic art programs, educational support, job training, and life skills workshops. The aim is to equip these young individuals with the tools they need to break the cycle of homelessness and lead fulfilling, independent lives.

A hallmark of HALO's approach is its emphasis on art and creativity. The organization's programs use art as a therapeutic tool, helping youth express themselves, heal from trauma, and build confidence. This creative focus is evident throughout the new campus, which will feature vibrant, art-filled spaces designed to inspire and comfort its residents.
